St James’ Baths opened in 1932 and closed in 2013. The original building housed Turkish, Russian and Roman baths in the basement, with rare Art Deco features.
Renovation of the existing main structure will consist of two apartments, 11 aparthotel rooms (some with sky gardens), a bar in the former stage area and a roof terrace for the restaurant.
The size of the 30-metre swimming pool will be reduced, with only a small pool remaining and the rest infilled to create floor space for the restaurant. However the original historic pool structure will be retained to facilitate possible future reinstatement.
Restaurant to provide fine dining located above the former pool area.
A stylish bar on the stage that hosted The Beatles in 1963.
